POETRY MONTH
April is National Poetry Month and we have hundreds of
humorous poems for you to enjoy! Browse our very clever collection of
original limericks written by local students. Find out who won this
year’s competition while enjoying the talents of all our young
writers.
DREAM
BIG...READ!
The wheels are turning in Youth Services as we plan for
the summer reading program. The theme for 2012 is “Dream Big, Read!”
and we have many exciting events in store for the summer! Look for sign-up
times and a full schedule in our next newsletter.
DISPLAY
CASE COLLECTIONS
Have a hobby of collecting some favorite things? Set them up in our Display
Case! Whether its baseball cards, beads, water globes, or Hot Wheels,
we would love to show them off for everyone to enjoy. Schedule a time
at the Youth Services Desk.
2011-2012 Bookmark
Contest Winners
Thank you to the 105 talented artists who entered our 12th Annual
Bookmark Contest! High School art teacher George Dirolf selected our
winners from two age groups: 6-9 years and 10-14 years. We will showcase
the winning bookmarks on our website & in our newsletters, and
distribute free bookmarks each month in Youth Services. The winners
of the 2010-2011 Contest received commemorative editions of their
bookmarks, certificates, and prizes at our Finale on August 17.

VOTED BEST
CHILDREN'S LIBRARY!
For the ninth consecutive year, Youth
Services has been named the "Best Children's Library in the Capital
District" in the annual Times Union poll! Readers from around the
area voted for their favorite, and we are so pleased to have been selected.
Thank you to our patrons for supporting us. We aim to continue to improve
our services to you.
